Who is Caldies Chem?

I’m Dr. Darryl Ellson. Head of Chemistry at Calderstones School in Liverpool.

I’m interested in exploring all aspects of effective teaching and learning in science. My particular interests at the moment are promoting synoptic thinking and independence at KS4 and KS5. I’m involved in delivering CPD to others via the LJMU/MyScience Partnership and the Liverpool LEA Lead Practitioners Programme. I also run a Liverpool/Wirral network looking at effective Chemistry teaching.
